Whitby & District 50+ Action Group is a long established  forum enabling the over 50’s within Whitby and District to have a voice on a local, regional and national scale concerning any issues that affect their lives.

The forum covers a wide geographical area of coast and country: Whitby town itself, and the surrounding area from Robin Hoods Bay in the south to Staithes in the north, and inland up the Esk Valley to Westerdale.  To date the group has members from 13 villages!

The forum is funded by NYCC and the CCG for the area,  is run by a volunteer committee that meets regularly and provides a periodic newsletter as well as Information Days throughout the year on a multitude of topics to keep its members up to date and to enable them to live fuller lives.

Whitby & District 50+ is affiliated to a number of organisations to assist in meeting its aims and objectives, these include: Age-UK, the National Pensioners Convention, Yorkshire & Humberside Pensioners Convention,  and Hambleton, Richmondshire & Whitby CCG.

To attend the Information Days and receive the newsletter, it is a requirement to become a member.  Membership is free and open to anyone aged 50 or over!
